Pride’s fun. Reeaally fun. The entire city gets covered in rainbows and unicorns, hot strangers from parts unknown descend upon your local bars and you get to party like it’s 1999, 1989, 1979 and 2009 all rolled up into one all in the same weekend and sometimes even in the same night! It’s a good time of the year. We’re big fans.
Don’t you just love stickers? They remind me of being in 1st grade when I collected and traded them with my friends. I always tried to get the unicorns and the googly eyes because, come on, they’re unicorns and googly eyes. I did a pretty good job of getting both, but I never did get a unicorn with googly eyes. But one day, my friend. One day.
But I digress. Getting back to the point, the Trans March is super excited to announce that we have brand spanking new Trans March stickers. Stickers!!

Several members of the Steering Committee hit Fresh Meat on Friday night and were totally and thoroughly blown away by the astounding performances. If you went, you know what I’m talking about. If you didn’t, do make it top priority for next year.
Everyone to a person was unbelievably talented and incredibly inspiring, so we walked out there totally psyched to do several things: learn to vogue, poach talent for next year’s march, and bump up our game this year. The first two are still in the works–believe me, honey, we’re ABSOLUTELY going to learn to vogue–but the last we decided to do something about.
We love surprises. The whole fun of the unexpected sneaking into your day and transforming the boring hum drum everyday into a sparkly fun rainbow filled wonderland. Surprises are great.
Except when they’re not. Like when you’re going to that hot new club only to find that it was shut down the night before b/c it got trampled by a herd of unicorns. Then surprises suck. Except for the fact that you’d then know a herd of unicorns visited your town. That would be awesome.

However, we are re-opening the applications for drag/dance/burlesque performers and MCs who are African American/Black, Asian, South Asian, Pacific Islander, and/or Native people. We try really hard to ensure that our stage represents the full range of racial/ethnic diversity in our trans communities. We also try to ensure diversity in gender, sexuality, dis/ability, income, immigration history, and age. Applications are due May 13, but do try to get them in ASAP.
So it’s come to our attention that we’ve been somewhat negligent about thanking all the people and organizations that have helped make the Trans March happen–it really is the efforts of a lot of people! We seriously appreciate the hard work of the organizations and individuals who helped make the Trans March happen last year and every year. We know we could not pull it off without the generous support, and donations of time, money, and goods given to us by so many! So first, we apologize for getting side-tracked and not giving the well-deserved acknowledgement our community deserves.
