Trans March Safety Tips

We’re so excited for Trans March this Friday and we can’t wait to see you all there! But since the bully-in-chief has empowered all the other bullies, we just wanted to share a few quick safety tips to make sure we all have a fun, safe weekend:

  • be sure to look out for yourself and community, even if you don’t know them personally
  • do travel in groups–if you’re single, this is your chance to mingle!
  • if bullies are looking to provoke, don’t give them what they want–walk or roll away instead if you can
  • let a volunteer or a safety monitor know about any issues at Trans March and we’ll take care of it
  • in the unlikely event that something bad does happen that should be recorded, consider using the ACLU Mobile Justice app (or similar) instead of just recording to your phone or streaming to social media as it will ensure footage cannot be destroyed or accidentally get community members in trouble. You can find the ACLU app here:https://www.mobilejusticeca.org/

We cannot wait for what we know will be a day of awe, beauty, community, diversity & excellent folks generally helping in justice kreation like marvelous narwhals or proud, queer, radical, stupendous trans unicorn vixens who xcellently yield zeitgeist. Okay, we admit we got a little lost there at the end, but the point is, it’s gonna be great and we cannot wait!

Trans March is a primarily volunteer run organization with dedicated folks who work year round on this event and other events to make sure our communities have safe places to celebrate our diverse, amazing communities. Please help us and each other keep community safe so that we can all grow and thrive and be our best selves.

See you Friday!
